For 15.4" Unibody Macbook Pro models from 2008-present with model # A1286, parts & labor total is dependent on what is broken. If both your glass & LCD are broken, it can be repaired in 2-4 hours for $290. If it's only the glass that's broken, it's $170. If it's only the LCD that's bad, it's $200. Mail order repairs come with free shipping. No house calls are available on these Unibody models as they require a clean room.

If you live in NYC, come to the workshop @ 251 W. 30th St in Midtown Manhattan to have your LCD screen replaced in a half hour while you watch. Glass replacement can take up to two hours depending on how mangled your machine is. We're in the basement which is through the freight entrance. Or, call to set up a house call to your home or office.

Where do you get these parts from? Is this an Apple glass and LCD?
The glass is made in the same factory the glass for your Macbook Pro was made in. It's of equal strength, durability, and quality. No scratches or scathes like some of the Chuang Bo/cbohk glass you can find on eBay. Why is this price so low?
First and foremost, we are amazing at performing this repair. We do a good job, the right way - the efficient way. Just watch while we work. Since we are not going out of our way or doing something that we consider difficult, we do not have to charge accordingly. Many repair centers that charge $250-$350 for just the glass, or just the LCD wind up sending us their top assemblies. They are acting as middlemen, which increases price. We do not consider the Unibody impossible or a pain in the ass, and as such, we do not overcharge.
Secondly, most repair centers buy the LCDs off eBay or other middlemen, because for them, this is a side business. Or, they are a general service company that performs many different repairs, so stocking 1000 LCDs for one machine makes no sense.
